There still are remnants of the old gold mines with tracks still in them.

Motorcyclists come from around the world to cruise our unique winding roads; you will see groups of 2 to 200. We are close to the famous "Dragon Tail/Cherohala Loop" located at the Tennessee/North Carolina border on the southern edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park which has 318 curves in 11 miles. Our own Highway 68 and many surrounding routes are famous to the many on road and off road enthusiasts. We have maps that can lead you on your way to a great motorcycle trip you will never forget.
